The NPC, in cooperation with the Geneva Centre for the Democratic Control of Armed Forces (DCAF), is facilitating a Security Sector Reform programme in Nepal between August 2009 and April 2011 funded by DFID, Embassy of Denmark, Swiss Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Embassy of Norway.

The focus of the programme is to fundamentally increase substantive security sector oversight capacities through support the specific committees in the Parliament on a  demand basis, as well as to facilitate participatory decision making process by engaging the concerned stakeholders. .

The NPC invites qualified individuals to apply for the following posts:


1. POST: National Expert / National Consultant

Terms of Reference: The incumbents should have substantial knowledge about Nepalese politics, security sector reform or security sector oversight. The incumbents are expected to be thematic competent on the following:

  1. Security Laws
  2. Security Sector Transformation
  3. Facilitation Skills
  4. Sound Research Skills
  5. Functioning of the Parliament
  6. Conflict Resolution

Educational Qualification: Master's Degree in Social Sciences from a recognized university.

Work Experience: S/he must have at least 15 (fifteen) years of work experiences relevant to the assignment, including the experiences with public relations.


2. POST: Driver - 1

Terms of Reference: The incumbents should have substantial experiences about traffic system in Kathmandu.

Work Experience: S/he must have at least 7 (seven) years of driving experiences.
